The Official Complete Set
The Official Complete Set was first on display as part of the SMFA thesis exhibition in the Cyclorama, part of the Boston Center for the Arts, in 2014.
The project examines the mass amounts of information contained in baseball cards (and related ephemera). Not only an analog conveyance of baseball statistics, in its design features and photographic elements the baseball card carries information about social and cultural trends, (self-)depictions of masculinity, and more. The ways collectors of baseball cards gather, organize, and archive these objects provide yet another informational structure, one that is mirrored to some degree in the obsessive act of recreating the cards in drawing and arranging them on the wall.
Baseball cards are also often very funny.
