About

Samara Pearlstein is an artist, educator, and arts administrator in the Boston, MA area. She studied art and biology at the University of Michigan, and received her MFA from the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University. Her work addresses systems of information and the frameworks we use to make sense of them. Other ongoing projects deal with exploration, surveying, both human-made and geological marks on the land, and questioning who gets to mark/explore/claim the landscape; perception (and its failures); the relationship between the original and the replica; humor and the absurd; and entropy. She also makes many images of cats.
